MedNGreen: A Learning Toolkit to Train Mediterranean Youth on Climate Change

MedNGreen is the first educational toolkit specifically designed for young people in integration programs across the Mediterranean, particularly for NEET youth (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), aged 15 to 25. Developed for Second Chance Schools and other vocational inclusion initiatives, the toolkit addresses a dual mission: raising awareness about climate change and introducing young people to green jobs and ecological transition careers.

With a hands-on, playful, and solution-oriented approach, MedNGreen empowers youth to understand the environmental challenges of the Mediterranean region while building real connections to the professional world.

 

Who is MedNGreen for?

• Trainers and educators who want to equip young NEETs with knowledge and tools to better understand and act on climate issues, while helping them explore green career paths.
• Young people seeking to understand the impact and solutions to the climate crisis and discover opportunities to engage in green jobs.

A key feature of MedNGreen is its strong link to real-world opportunities. Each activity sheet includes:

• Suggestions of places to visit (green companies, environmental associations, local initiatives);
• Examples of green and greening professions related to the theme covered;
• Practical exercises such as:
  • Creating a map of local green organizations related to the theme;
  • Preparing, conducting, and producing interviews with professionals (videos, podcasts, or written testimonies) to highlight inspiring and accessible career paths.
