Empowering young people through sustainable solutions

At a time when the Mediterranean region is facing rising unemployment rates and a growing number of disconnected young people, the newly launched guide takes on a double challenge. It not only tackles the pressing issue of youth unemployment, but also addresses the region's vulnerability to the growing impacts of climate change. By positioning ecological transition as a lever for integration, the guide aspires to shape a sustainable future for Mediterranean youth.

Civil society's contribution to a resilient tomorrow

The release of the Handbook for Sustainable Integration in the Mediterranean coincides with the annual conference in Matosinhos, where the collaborative efforts of over 20 civil society organizations are converging. These diverse contributions reflect a shared commitment to tackling youth unemployment and climate vulnerability. The guide encapsulates the ideas and best practices of these organizations, offering a roadmap for sustainable development that covers three key areas: infrastructure adaptation, public awareness and environmental integration in programs and projects.

Guiding Mediterranean youth towards green jobs

Within the guide, readers will discover 20 inspiring best practices ready to be replicated in sectors crucial to the ecological transition. These practices are categorized into three areas: adapting infrastructures, raising awareness among various publics, and integrating environmental considerations into programs and projects. In addition, the guide presents 10 exemplary training programs designed to equip Mediterranean youth with the skills needed for tomorrow's green jobs. It underscores the collective responsibility we share to foster an ecological transition, emphasizing that the journey begins now.t.
